Preparing for Ramadan with young kids

With Ramadan approaching soon, I wanted to get a head start with the preparations. This year with my daughter understanding more about our way of life, and being more curious about our faith, I’m particularly excited to involve her much more this Ramadan. I want these 28/29 days in a year to be a time she looks forward to, just like the rest of us. And while she may be too young to fast, read the Quran or pray her Salah, my plan of action is to get her involved and excited through various Ramadan related activities. Whether that be through decorating the house, doing Ramadan related crafts, carrying out acts of kindness, making a gratitude list or even preparing some colouring sheets for her.

Here’s a list of free printables that I have found on the internet, which I will be using with my daughter. While there are many age –appropriate printables out there that you should definitely have a look at, my list below is the one I felt most comfortable with for my 4 year old daughter.

Before I begin though, I would like to invite you to download my FREE printable: Little Acts of Kindness, teaching the little ones to practice gratitude and earn rewards. Click here to be directed to the link.

1. Tot cards – Arabic Letters Flash cards

Learning and memorising the Arabic letters is important for learning how to recite the Quran in Arabic. These flashcards can be laminated and make a lovely educational resource. Click here for a direct link.
