3D World Dubai- A new attraction in town

We are the Instagram generation, always on the hunt to take cool pictures for uploading on the feed and share with friends and family. Well, there’s a new ‘gram worthy place in town that is a whole lot of fun for the entire family, and perfect for getting the cameras clicking away. All you need to do is pose! Say hello to 3D World Dubai, a first of its kind in Dubai. It’s the world’s largest 3D Trick Art museum with over 175 hand painted 3D artworks painted on the walls and floors.

This museum, located off Sheikh Zayed Road and very close to Oasis Mall is spread over two floors and separated into 9 different zones. I was kindly invited by the owner, Schakun Singh, to enjoy the experience and here’s my top five reasons on why 3D World Dubai is worth a visit.

1. The zones

There are nine fun zones to enjoy, and I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite. You start with the Illusion zone as soon as you enter, and move on to Arabic and Egyptian zone. You will be taking pictures with the merchants of the old Dubai souq as well as riding on a magic flying carpet in this zone. Moving on to the Water world and Animal Kingdom, where you will get to be a mermaid and also share sweets with a chameleon. Then, there is the World of Masterpieces, where you will get the opportunity to be part of some famous paintings. At the Fantasy zone, you can take pictures hanging upside down while a Storm Trooper gives you a bubble wash and many more fictional characters, followed by the Forest zone where you will be crossing dangerous wooden bridges past some waterfalls. Lastly, is the New Age zone, where you can be on the cover of the Times magazine and also be Olympic champion. All of this, in one day.

2. It’s for the whole family

Whether young or old, residents of the UAE or family visiting from abroad, this place is for everyone. Everyone can get completely creative with the poses, and that’s why we also have a picture of my little 5 month old being rescued from the jaws of an angry crocodile. It’s for everyone! My 4 year old had a lovely time too and definitely had a few favourite art works of her own.

3. No time limit

Once you are in, there is no time limit on how long you can spend at the museum. We spent almost 2 hours, and took so-so many pictures. It is important to note that there are no benches at the museum and strollers are not allowed in. There is a small seating area and a café once you reach the end of the last zone, just before you exit.

4. Helpful staff

Even though there are markings on the floor telling you where to stand and take the picture from and examples of how to pose when taking pictures with certain artworks, it really helps to have staff members on the floor who are very friendly and ever ready to take your pictures for you. We were able to take so many cool family photos with creative poses, capturing the illusion of the artwork because the staff were readily available and had a trained eye for those perfect shots.

5. Indoors

Dubai is almost 9 months summer and 3 months winter, so it helps that the museum is an indoor facility. And that means, you can visit this place throughout the year.

Preparing the 3D World Dubai has been a labour of love, and you can see that with the beautifully hand painted artworks. We most certainly had a lovely time here and would highly recommend this place be visited atleast once to experience 3D trick art.
