Tutorial: Make your own Home Decor Frames with Pretty Paper Studio

Get ready for a new series of craft related posts and tutorials coming your way. It’s the beginning of a new adventure. One I have Pretty Paper Studio to thank for, for allowing me to be part of their Design Team. You already know how my daughter and I enjoy getting crafty and creating various art projects, so this is just perfect for us. Seeing that we both love arts and crafts, I will be sharing with you some easy and beautiful ‘Mom and Child’ crafts each month, which you can read on the blog of Pretty Paper Studio.

Theme of the month

For the month of September, the theme that has been set is ‘Stamptember’. It’s in celebration of the 8 new beautiful stamps that have been released by Pretty Paper Studio. They range from Florals, Travel icons, Festive prints and Calligraphy. They are only available at Pretty Paper Studio and are priced at AED 75 (excluding VAT).  I was sent the Uppercase Brush Lettering alphabet stamps to work with and I can’t wait for you to see what I have designed along with my daughter.

Using these stamps, some other various materials, such as Card stock, Hemp cord, Distress Ink stamp pads, Distress Ink Speciality Stamping Paper, and my daughter’s assistance, we created three decorative frames for her room. While her walls are decorated with her childhood photos, butterfly stickers and even her name spelt out using colourful wooden blocks, I felt it could be enhanced further by including words. Words that she could grow up reading and associate with. Strong, empowering words that define her colourful personality. Out of all the words I would love to describe my daughter, I had to choose only three, and they were: Brave, Kind and Smart.

To learn more about how I created these frames, please check out my detailed photo tutorial on Pretty Paper studio’s website. It will help you step by step and also easily give you a list of all the things you require for this craft. You can also read detailed tutorials on the theme of the month- Stamptember, by other fellow Design Team Members. There’s also instructions on how you can join @ppsuae and win yourself a prize pack worth AED 50.
