If you’ve been following our stay-at-home activities on Instagram lately, you’ll know how much we’ve been loving the Unicorn theme box from Krafty Beez. I happened to open the box before my daughter, and couldn’t contain my excitement at what all was included. The contents of the box have kept us both busy for weeks and continue to do so. Here are my five reasons why you too will love getting your hands on their activity kits:

Themed boxes:

They have such fun themes to choose from. Azmu is into unicorns lately, already planning for a unicorn themed 5^th birthday party. And so this unicorn themed box has been perfect to play around with. The other themes they currently have are Dinosaurs, At the Beach, On the Farm and Under the Sea, and are appropriate for 3 years and older.

Choice of activities in each box:

There are more than 10 activities in each box, encouraging imagination, creativity and role play in your child. There’s kinetic sand, play dough, sensory play materials, craft materials and so much more, to develop your child’s cognitive, emotional and fine motor skills. I mean, where else have you seen ‘unicorn eggs’ which hatch unicorns which then grow big when immersed in water!

Materials included:

The box really has it all! From clear glue and scissor for building your craft item, to paint brush and paints for creating a masterpiece canvas, it’s all in the box. I also love how the materials are pre-cut and packed in separate activity packets, depending on what is needed to complete the activity. For example, making the magical wand was so easy, because the foam stars were pre-cut and all my daughter needed to do was peel off the back sheet.

Encouraged independent play:

Each activity pack not only comes with the materials needed, but also easy to understand instructions and a picture of the completed final product. By looking at the picture of the final product, my daughter was able to decide what activity she wanted to have a go at and know what her final work was expected to look like. All I needed to do was read out the instructions and guide her. Some activities like the kinetic sand and playdoh have been wonderful for some independent and imaginative play.

Hand made with love:

This small local business has made sure, everything in the activity box is made and packaged with love. The play dough is home-made and packed in a jar. Krafty Beez was born when three Montessori trained teachers , Amna, Sheetal and Mehrunnessa, came together with their years of experience and deisgned crafty themed boxes for children to have fun and learn from during this pandemic time. What initially started as boxes for family and friends, saw potential to be expanded and gave rise to ‘Krafty Beez’ as we know it now. They are continuously working to offer more, from more themes to monthly subscriptions.
