Why this?
Obviously, I am not going to be the only woman in town to feel women empowerment echoing across all social media platforms this month, with days like World Book Day (1st March), Women’s International Day (8th March) and Mother’s Day (well…depends which one you want to celebrate).
The above quote seemed to resonate very well for me as a mother and a woman. I feel an obligation to raise my daughter in the knowledge that with the right education, strong faith in Allah and the passion to succeed, she can take charge of her own life. She can be smart, confident, courageous and independent; and still show empathy, be compassionate and modest. She can go out there and win Olympic medals, be elected to run a country or make ground breaking discoveries to save many lives.
So, ask your daughter tonight before she goes to bed, what would she like to be when she grows up? A strong leader running an empire like Cleopatra, a Nobel Prize winner and researcher like Marie Curie, a revolutionary designer like Coco Chanel…or even a knight like Joan of Arc and Rani of Jhansi.
