This super fun and easy Paper Pinwheel Tutorial, will have you and your children ready for the festive spirit of the UAE National Day in no time. Wave them around and watch them spin as they catch the wind. Set them up on your front porch or a window next to your flower pots. Make one, or make a bunch to hand them out to everyone in your child’s class. It’s really up to you. Infact, this pinwheel activity is so easy, you’ll want one for your office desk too! (Keep reading, for an extra surprise at the end)
All you need:
- The Printable Template (click ->) – UAE Flag Paper Pin Wheel
- Scissors
- Colourful paper straws
- Thumbtacks/ Pinwheel fasteners
- Printer
- Square White paper
- Red, Black and Green crayons (if printing the Black and White sheet from the template)
Instructions:
The simple instructions are already provided with the template. However, I can tell you now, it only involves cutting along the dotted lines and folding the corners of the flap so that they meet in the centre of the square.
It’s important to use a thumbtack, or a loosely tied bead, so that the pinwheel can freely rotate as it catches the wind.
Don’t forget to decorate the straw with colourful stickers and ribbons too.
